Plett Tourism has exciting news! The Plett Ocean Festival has been recognized as a "One to Watch" in the Nature-Positive Tourism category at the World Travel Market Africa (WTM Africa) Responsible Tourism Awards. This prestigious award acknowledges Plett's dedication to sustainable tourism practices and marine conservation efforts.

WTM Africa is a leading travel and tourism expo that recognizes businesses and destinations committed to responsible tourism. The Responsible Tourism Awards highlight initiatives that generate positive environmental and social impact, setting a high standard for the industry.

Plett Tourism CEO, Patty Butterworth, expressed her delight at the recognition: "Receiving a Nature-Positive award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to protecting our oceans, marine life, and coastline."

The Plett Ocean Festival plays a vital role in fostering dialogue between marine scientists, conservationists, and the public. These conversations have already led to significant achievements, including Plettenberg Bay's designation as a World Cetacean Alliance Whale Heritage Site – one of only eight in the world!

Plett Tourism believes the festival can be a catalyst for positive change. By igniting curiosity about marine science and inspiring citizen participation in conservation efforts, the festival empowers individuals to become guardians of our oceans.

Plett Tourism extends its gratitude to all those who contributed to the festival's success and this recognition, including partners, volunteers, presenters, NGOs, businesses, and attendees.

"Through the Plett Ocean Festival and other initiatives," Butterworth continues, "we believe we can work together to create a world where tourism thrives in harmony with nature."
