CHILD FRIENDLY BEACHES
Here is a selection of family-friendly beaches in Plettenberg Bay where the kids can splash around in the shallows while you soak up the sun.
Central Beach
Known as Plett's iconic 'family beach', Central Beach has family beach amenities including public toilets, a take-out, ice-cream, 2 licensed restaurants, kayaking and is the base for the boat-based whale-watching safaris. Deck chairs, umbrellas and body-boards are available for rental here.
Poortjies Lagoon Beach
This beach, which extends along the Keurbooms lagoon front, can be either a wide stretch of sand or a narrow strip of sand depending on the tides. Wide sandbanks that are frequently covered in shallow water and warm up nicely in the sun making it great for the little ones to splash around. There are public rest rooms here but no vendors so don't forget to pack your own snacks.
