Dust off your suspenders and grab a litre stein, because Oktoberfest is back in Plettenberg Bay. Last year’s sold out festival was the talk of the town. Now it’s time to do it all again at Barrington’s on Saturday, 31 October 2026. Fest bier, food, bratwurst and live music are all on the menu.
Award-winning beer from Barrington’s Craft Brewery
Guests can look forward to world-class beer straight from the source. Brewmaster Tristan Hartmann and assistant brewer Alfred Manda run Barrington’s brewhouse as a dedicated two-person team, and their hard work paid off in a big way at the 2026 African Beer Cup. Fifty-eight expert judges evaluated 244 entries from 16 African countries, and Barringtons walked away with four prestigious medals. They bagged silvers for The Newdigate and Punch’s Pale Ale, plus bronzes for Barrington’s Lite and their barrel-aged Imperial Stout, The Wreck. That means three out of the four beers in their signature range are now official award winners!

Live Beats, Beer Pong, and Halloween Costumes
With this year’s festival landing on Halloween, expect plenty of festival swagger. There is a fantastic prize up for grabs for the best-dressed guest, so going all out on your outfit is strongly encouraged.
The stage will feature three fantastic musical acts:
- Whiskey For Tea: Plett’s own favourite rock band opens the afternoon with their energetic classic and alternative rock sound.
- The Groove Missionaries: A Cape Town party band bringing classic funk, soul, and dance floor anthems.
- Congo Cowboys: An unforgettable mix of Congolese soukous, kwassa kwassa, bluegrass, and country.
Beyond the music, you can explore the beer tent, test your aim in the beer pong hall, and join in on games and giveaways throughout the day.
