Plettenberg Bay: Nominated for Africa's Leading Beach Destination at World Travel Awards for 14th Consecutive Year!

Plettenberg Bay has been nominated for Africa's Leading Beach Destination in the World Travel Awards, putting it on par with the continent's finest beach locations. This marks the 14th consecutive year that Plett has received a nomination, competing against prominent global destinations such as Cape Town, Bazaruto, and Zanzibar. Plett Tourism is excited about this nomination, particularly after being recognized by the World Cetacean Alliance as a contender Whale Heritage Site, adding to the coastal region's charm.

Since 1993, the World Travel Awards has been honoring and celebrating excellence across all tourism sectors. The awards have become a global symbol of quality, with winners setting the standard for others to follow. The World Travel Awards conducts regional gala ceremonies each year to recognize and celebrate the achievements and strengths of the travel industry in each geographic region.

Plett is well-versed in receiving accolades for its beaches and marine wonders. With six Blue Flag status beaches, two Blue Flag status boats, and recognition as a Mission Blue Hope Spot, the coastal town on South Africa's Garden Route has established itself as a marine paradise.
